Bring it on!! Summer is one of the best times to knit, to me at least! It was so much fun to be able to take my bag when the kids went to the playground, or when I was watching them ride their bikes and couldn’t take the laptop along to get work finished. It was a summer of discovery…figuring out that patterns aren’t so scary, and neither are shawls and that it is SO much fun to meet a designer (Miss Babs was at our LYS earlier in the summer)….that friends to knit with are more fun than it sounds (even to a non-knitter!!!) and that knitting helped me refocus and relax.
So what was I working on? Christmas presents and even a couple of things to keep for our family. Not going to tell you which is which, but here are some of the different projects! Get out there and try it if you haven’t!
Toolman modeling a hat for me:
The first shawl:
This might be my favorite….
A test-knitted pattern, which was supposed to be for my niece but ended up not fitting quite so well:
Another wrap, which I absolutely love. The yarn is just so doggone perfect for it!!
So that’s what I’ve been up to in my “spare” time. There’s one more shawl coming to be considered a summer knit, but then there are some fabulous ones that I cannot WAIT to have finished, because they’re going to be really neat with the yarns.
ETA: Here’s the last summer knit, a test knitted pattern that I ended up really liking! Its a rectangular shawl….
