Happenings at DB Impressions bio picture
  • Welcome to my blog!

    I'm supposed to write something about myself here...which I'm not good at! I'm Diane, a lifestyle portrait photographer in the Palmyra, PA area. I first really got into photography so that I could stop taking my kids to the "box" studios for their images...and I wanted good action shots. As I started learning some of the basics of how to use my camera and the light around me, I really became intrigued...and here I am today, creating what I hope are images of a lifetime for my clients. Some of my favorite sessions are seniors and babies and I enjoy making people look good in intimate sessions as well (these are featured on a separate blog).

As promised – photographing the Photog’s kids {Palmyra, PA Photographer}

Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek
Earlier this week, I teased you with the thought of the photographer *gasp* attempting portraits of her own kids. OutDOOR portraits, no less, in between the rain drops that have been falling nearly ALL week, keeping said kids cooped up FAR too much. So…here is photographic evidence of why there are...

I love the pictures–kids being themselves, isn’t it great. Here’s my photo story happy Friday!

I think they are better than most staged photos because they tell a better story and give you a more realistic of life!

Shellie - June 7, 2009 - 5:03 pm

They are actually great natural shots! I know the frustration so well.

Something New

Those of you who know me know that I don’t venture outside of my comfort zone too often.  This week, I’ve ventured out quite a bit, and you know what? It feels good! Part of the change has been to cut and color my hair. I got funky highlights in it today, and LOVE them....

Go you! I’m working on emerging from my comfort zone. If you knew me years ago you’d know that I’d fallen in a funk and this just isn’t me.
I think it’s awesome about the bike!! Last year you were rather resistant to it. You are surely a much different person than I “met” 3 years ago.

Bob Lawrence - May 11, 2009 - 10:42 am

Oh, how I miss my bike! You look good on it!!!!

Carrie Keiser - May 8, 2009 - 3:21 pm

You look like you’re concentrating! How fun, a new do and some sweet wheels!

Here’s my photo story happy Friday!

Tiaras & Tantrums - April 3, 2009 - 1:48 pm

that photo IS superb!

Bob Lawrence - April 3, 2009 - 8:28 am

I agree with Diane completely … everyone should take a tour of DC at least once, and during the annual Cherry Blossom festival is a great time! I could spend several days in DC photographing everything!

First of all, that shot is GORGEOUS.

And secondly, it reminded me of how much I want to visit there some day. My husband spent two years there when he was a young man and always talks about how beautiful the cherry blossoms were in the Spring…someday he will take me back. :)

Carrie Keiser - April 3, 2009 - 3:09 am

Photostory Friday: Tooth update! {Palmyra, PA Photographer}

Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek
Some of you will remember about 2 weeks ago when I posted the silly picture of Blondie’s “double” tooth….Well, after being compared to the devil for having my grandpa pull it, and NOT tell her ahead of time that there might be blood… she’s anxiously awaiting the tooth fairy tonight!

What IS...

Expressions

Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek
These little guys had such wonderful expressions over the weekend. In addition to getting some wonderful images of them, I captured some pretty darn funny ones as well!

And I had a terrible time choosing just a couple of pics, so….yeah. There’s a lot! Sorry about that!
I hope you’re smiling now too!...
