Happenings at DB Impressions bio picture
  • Welcome to my blog!

    I'm supposed to write something about myself here...which I'm not good at! I'm Diane, a lifestyle portrait photographer in the Palmyra, PA area. I first really got into photography so that I could stop taking my kids to the "box" studios for their images...and I wanted good action shots. As I started learning some of the basics of how to use my camera and the light around me, I really became intrigued...and here I am today, creating what I hope are images of a lifetime for my clients. Some of my favorite sessions are seniors and babies and I enjoy making people look good in intimate sessions as well (these are featured on a separate blog).

Wool in Summer?

Bring it on!! Summer is one of the best times to knit, to me at least! It was so much fun to be able to take my bag when the kids went to the playground, or when I was watching them ride their bikes and couldn’t take the laptop along to get work finished. It...

Healing Power of Social Media?

My family members aren’t huge fans of social media. They think its a waste of time and some days, they couldn’t be more right. There’s been days when I’ve spent a boatload of time just reading different posts and puttering around, even playing games and growing virtual veggies (if only I had that much of...

Knitting {Palmyra Product Photography}

Lately, partly because of the cold and partly because of the “therapy” that it provides, I’ve been knitting every spare moment. I think I’ve got three different projects cast onto needles right now, and as the mood (or light) strikes me, I’ll pick one up. Depending on the light, I’ve got a GORGEOUS, pure black...

Absolutely beautiful work. I love how both yarns really show off the lacework. :)

Winter Solstice’s Lunar Eclipe {Palmyra Portrait Photography}

Last night, along with many other photographers and curious people, I had the “brilliant” idea to stay up to watch at good portion of the lunar eclipse. Did it blow anyone else’s mind that the Earth/Moon can pass each other’s shadows in a little over an hour when the Earth is so stinking huge? Did...

Beautiful images! Love the clarity of the last one…that was a particularly hard shot for me to capture as the clouds were getting very thick by that time!

These are some really good pictures and I know that you are happy that you stayed up to take them. We set our alarm and went out right around 3am here to see it. It was somewhat cloudy and it didn’t even think to take some pictures until this morning :/

Working with triplets! {Hershey, PA Children’s Photography}

Have you ever wondered what its like to work with triplets for a photoshoot? Ever wondered how in the world you get all three to look at the camera at the same time, or have them all in a good mood at the same time? Well, first off….plan on being laid back. Plan on your...

I love the pictures in your blog! I wish we could do this more often. We should have thought about this before they were born and we could have done pictures every 3 months ;)
