Poor Clint…we really tortured him the day that he and Courtney had their engagement images created! Courtney and I have become friends over the past few months, partly in thanks to her Mom and a common love of knitting between the three ladies. Hopefully we didn’t make the session too tough for him though…there was even a promise of ice cream, so hopefully Court fed him later! We couldn’t have asked for better weather though…looking at their images is really making me miss the t-shirt weather like CRAZY!

Anyway, it’ll be so much fun to watch them “grow up” and add to their family…they’ve already added some furry pals! Congrats to both of you, hugs!!

Senior Spokesmodel Deets ‘13 – {Palmyra Senior Photographer}

Ok gang….here’s the boring stuff….scan through it to be sure you’re good with the nitty gritties!

Senior Spokesmodel Program

DB Impressions (DBI) is looking for juniors (graduating in 2013) that are interested in working as a model for our studio. I am looking for students who are interested in having their portraits taken before the end of their junior year in exchange for print credits, gift certificates and discounts.

DBI will select at least two students per school to participate in the program. Parental consent is required to participate. An application must be filled out prior to acceptance. If you are chosen as a model, you will be photographed in early spring. Approximately 2 weeks later, you will be able to preview your images and make choices for your model cards and 5×7 book.

Models will receive 50 business-type cards with their images and the studio’s information. The cards will also offer a special discount when presented to DBI. Models will receive credit for each student that books/completes a session. Students MUST present their cards at the time of booking to receive their special discount and to count toward the model’s tally.

Many students have their senior pictures taken over the summer, so it is very important that your show your portraits to as many people as possible before school lets out. The more you show your portraits and promote DB Impressions, the more credit you can earn!

Models can earn:
• $25 Print credit or 8 wallets for each booked referral
OR choose to earn gift certificates;
• 3 referrals= $20 Starbucks gift card (use whatever you want here)
• 5 referrals= Gift certificate for a manicure or pedicure –OR- $25 Gift certificate to Target
• 10 referrals= video iPod® session loaded onto your iPod and a $25 iTunes® gift card

Models also get the following benefits:

• Choice of a full session NOW ~OR~ 2/3 mini sessions; one now and then later in the summer.
• 10 web sized & watermarked images from your session to use on the web and Facebook.
• Your images on advertising materials, DB Impressions’ website and blog.
• No limit on locations or poses in your collection.

Contract Terms: (read these, even though its boring!!)

• I agree to pay a $150 deposit, which will then apply to my portrait order, to hold my spot as a model.
• As a model for DB Impressions (DBI), I agree to use one of my 10 web-sized images as my avatar for MySpace, Facebook and/or Twitter/Google+ from the time of my first session until December of my senior year.
• My $150 deposit includes my 50 spokes model cards and 5×7 book. This deposit also applies to my senior portrait order. Collections start at $285.
• I understand that this is a job and I will have to work to earn print credit or gift certificates by passing out my spokes model cards, showing my 5×7 book and encouraging my friends to book their sessions with DB Impressions.
• I agree to not promote or utilize any other studios for senior images while I am a participant of DB Impressions’ program.

This year, clients were EVERYTHING to the business. Not only were you guys the reason I was able to “work,” but you also helped out on many different levels. Sometimes you were a session assistant for your own family’s session, other times you pitched in to babysit or help to organize things or….yeah, there’s too many things to even mention. I’m honored. I can’t even tell you how much easier it made our lives, seriously! Sometimes it still feels like we’re adjusting to schedules, and then of course things change or someone gets sick, and whooooo boy can things change fast! ANYWAY! I wanted to honor as many of you as I was able, so I decided to put at least one image from every session that I had permission to share on this year’s Christmas card. Did you get one? If not, head on over here to sign up to make sure you get one next year!! Wait, this year. Whatever, in 2012. I’m already brainstorming to plan something awesome for that one, too!!

So, even though I’m a little late….here’s hoping you had a WONDERFUL holiday!

Is he really that tall? {Palmyra High School Senior Photographer}

Its really hard to wrap your head around one of the kids you knew being a senior in high school! When we first started at our “new” church, Jared was…. maybe in sixth grade? He was a LOT younger than he is now. I think he hid for a few years, because I seriously don’t remember this whole getting tall thing happening! We had a great time with Jared’s session though, his Mom was the perfect person to bring along, because he and I both picked on her. Don’t worry, Beth gives as good as she gets….she’s the one that I blame for what was possibly the worst sugar high ever with my kids! Jared, I can’t wait to see what life holds next, I know whatever it throws your way, you’ll meet it with your fantastic sense of humor!

Sun Hae’s smile {Hershey, PA Senior Photographer}

SunHae’s Mom and sister both joined her for her senior portrait session, and oh my goodness were they fun to have along! SunHae and her sister are hilarious! They play off of each other, critique little things when needed (which is REALLY helpful, since Sunah knows SunHae better than I can) and make each other just burst into giggles…its so much fun to watch!

We got REALLY lucky with the weather the day of SunHae’s session, too. The weather around here hasn’t been very reliable all through the fall, but it was warm, with a little bit of a breeze, a few clouds and lots of sunshine! Hope you enjoy her sneak peaks, and keep checking back for more posts, now that things are slowing down a little bit, blogging will be a little bit more regular again!

Holiday Deadline!!

Just a really quick reminder that the holiday ordering deadline is coming up on December 10th. If you want to have your goodies before the holidays, you MUST order before this date! I’ll be closing the studio at this point, and won’t be working “regularly” until the new year, to allow for family time. Will you still be able to email or call for questions and scheduling? Absolutely. I’ll still be here, just spending a little extra time with the family. After all, they’re growing entirely too fast….and their social lives? Sheesh!! That alone will keep a mama running!

Courtney’s smile is one of those that’s contagious. There were a lot of laughs and real smiles during her session, which make it even more fun than having to coax it out of a client…thankfully coercion is fairly rare lately!

Pink water at the Capitol {Harrisburg, PA Senior Photography}

During Marissa’s high school senior session, we figured out that during October, the water in the fountain at the capitol building is turned pink! AFTER we got done doing the happy dance, we had a BLAST with it. Marissa’s entire session focused on the neat stuff that we could find in the city, and we found some really great stuff! A couple of shots turned out to be bloopers, but not many!

Lindsay {Palmyra Senior Photographer}

Lindsay is a cool person…she plays volleyball as well as lots of other stuff and has some pretty incredible talents in the arts as well. They also had a neat way to incorporate someone special into her session, which was pretty neat to see as well. Its so much fun getting to know client and family just a little bit better during the session…and as you’ll see, we had some fun getting Lindsay’s shots as well!
